Read this book and you get a TWO IN ONE benefit because: if “ The Wall of Winnipeg and Me” plus “ Kulti” had a love child, Homecoming King would be it. Penny always writes the best humor-laden romances and this one was not only funny, but had loads of heart. It was definitely a friends to lovers slow burn in the best way. I loved watching Rex and Abby fall for one another. I was curious to see what would happen with these two and when I realized this was a marriage of convince/fake dating book I was so thrilled. Abby was burned by an ex a long time a go and isn't interested in dating, even though she's always had a thing for Rex. Rex has a reputation for being the guy girls date before they settle down with the love of their lives. Not just because of her crush, he's also a professional football player. Rex doesn't recall who Abby is but she could't forget him if she tried. Now, a decade after they've graduated high school, they run in to each other. They went to school together and Abby had the biggest crush on Rex. Penny Reid really delivered with Homecoming King.Ībby and Rex meet at the bar Abby works at, but that's not where their story begins.
